Gallery 1 - Road To Recovery

With acrylic, oil paint and watercolour, I feel like a 4 year old child rolling on the floor coating myself with all the different colours I love. This journey into the wonderful world of colours started after my cervical spinal injury. Being cooped up at home, recovering from the injury, I have found painting a healing process. Not only does it kill time, it also makes me feel productive instead of wasting away. Painting with vibrant colours offers me a way to trail off into a whimsical world filled with joy, hope and boundless movement. Thankfully I've recovered and the works in this gallery depict my journey from gloom to glee.

Alpha and Beta

Artist's Notes: Alfa and Beta are my pet betta fish. Not only have they kept me company while I recover from my cervical spinal cord injury, they have been the source of inspiration for many of my paintings.(acrylic on paper)
Betta Bubble

Artist's notes: Being out of commission and confined at home, I felt like my betta fish, gazing at the wolrd from my window like my betta fish looking out from its tiny tank. (Acrylic on canvas)

More Bubbles

Artist's notes: Sometimes I feel like my betta fish. Being cooped up at home recovering from the injury, I try to have as much fun as possible just like my fish blowing bubbles in its tiny tank. (Acrylic on canvas)
Wait Up !

Artist's Notes: Staying off work and staying home recovering from my injury, I watch the world go by and feel the need to catch up. I really want to yell out : wait up! . (Acrylic on canvas)

Virtual Pedicure

Artist's notes:With my injury, I couldn't bend to paint my toenails, so I gave myself a virtual pedicure with acrylic on watercolour paper.
Oh Bubbles!

Artist's Notes: I paint anything I see in my house while recovering from my injury. There is this tree frog in my wall calendar,oh how I wish I can jump like it. (Acrylic on canvas)

Jumpalaya

Artist's notes: Being hopeful that I would come back with a roar after my recovery. When I painted this, I really looked forward to the day when I could jump and have fun again! (oil on canvas)
I'm Back!

Artist's Notes:This is in celebration of my recovery. I can finally get out on my own and have some fun . Wheeeee (oil on canvas)

It's A Fun World Out There

Artist's notes: Recovering from my injury and getting out to have some fun. It's been two long years...wow it's such a fun world out there ! (Watercolour and ink)
Temptation

Artist's Notes: There are so many things I want to do after my recovery that I might over exert myself. Like my neurologist and physiatrist say, only I know my own body, and I should temper my activites based on the symptoms I feel. I should take it easy and resist the temptation ^.^ (Oil on Canvas)
